Even then, it's a friggin' beta, that is literally the period of time where things get changed and adjusted before being finalized. They could have outright changed those female NPCs with male ones and I wouldn't see any issue. Now after the game's launch, I could see that being a little annoying if it got changed, but still not game-killing.
