Lord of War. The intro is awesome.

Lord of War is incredible... but I'm not sure that's something somebody should watch with a kid >_>

Really? I mean, I'm not going to tell someone what their child should watch, that's up to them. But it doesn't seem that bad to me...

To be fair I don't think Larry cares either way.

Kids who grew up in the 80's like me had violence everywhere. Some of my favorite cartoons when I was a kid: Transformers, G.I. J. Goe and TMNT had people and robots shooting earth other or turtles constantly destroying robots and beating up shredder's goons.

If kids didn't want to watch that, there was Ducktales, Muppet Babies and so on

A lot of parents let their kids watch what they were watching back then for R rated movies. And a lot of parents I know (including my own) made sure to teach us about violence

Admittedly, the movies now are more realistic than the ones I saw as a kid. But if people make sure to teach their kids that yes, this movie is fake and teach them the long term repercussions of using violence, kids will be fine

True, one of the first movies I remember watching as a little kid was Hellraiser. My parents only made me look away from whatever they were watching if there was nudity on screen.
