Haha. My old roommate, my uncle and my mom's friend. I figured I'd ask to see if anyone else kept them, but I guess most people throw them out.

There isn't. I think some people think their garbage will stink if they put them in there, but I've never had that issue.

It won't stink because it's kept cold (I imagine) but open eggs can't be good for any other food. Especially the porous eggs right beside them.

When my grandparents used to compost, they'd save the coffee grounds and egg shells. I know the shells add calcium to the soil, which some plants need, while I think the coffee grounds lower the pH.

I used to give the shells to my Great Dane, who loved crunching on them, and it was a good source of calcium. My other dogs have never seemed to be interested in the shells, only what's in them.

Yes. I don't really produce enough trash to fill up a bag every day or even several and egg shells would definitely smell left for long in there. Refrigerated in the carton they're fine until I throw the whole thing out.

It depends on situation. If you have plants, then you can keep the egg shells to put in the soil. The shells can serve as fertilizer.

I rarely eat eggs, but when I do I boil the shells and put them in my shrimp aquariums. It's good for their shells.

Idk it's a 15 dollars plastic vessel with a lid from Walmart not a sealed pneumatic tube to space.

Yes, it's much easier to toss things into the can from across the room or if your hands are full of gunk if there's no lid to deal with. And where I keep the garbage there's no room for the foot-pedal operated type.

Nutjob? I make a hole top and bottom, blow the yolk and white out for cooking, rinse the shells out with hot water and paint or decoupage them. Like decorated Easter eggs, but permanent.
