I'm still playing Prey. It's a good game but while it seems like in some ways it's a better attempt to translate the concepts of older games into a modern big budget successor than bioshock (well, not that I've gotten around to playing Thief or System Shock yet so I probably shouldn't say anything about it), it doesn't really have much of an identity of its own. There isn't really much of a story or characters or a hook to keep playing, it's kind of more of a loose collection of mechanics and objectives. some of which feel a bit there just because they're supposed to be there. Also can't help but think when getting to the lobby that it's all art deco styled there despite being in an alternate history that split off more in the 1950s space race simply because they was copying bioshock, and I can't help but feel the player character is some sort of weird half hearted amalgamation of the player character from bioshock 1 and the big daddy from 2.

Got up to the crew quarters section via the arboretum last night, probably play for a few more hours and maybe I'll be able to get to deep storage proper.

one thing that's really annoying in the past little bit is I'm trying to be semi stealthy but the game's making it kind of obnoxious. I try to go to fix the main lift, but kept dying in seconds because I zone in almost directly in the line of sight of the technopath so I can't actually sneak up on it and I try to shoot the fucking thing with the fucking stun gun in a direct fight but I keep getting fucking knocked out of charging before getting in range because I can't fucking sneak up on the fucking thing. (I just said fuck it maybe I'll go back to it later). Then when I got to crew quarters, right when I zone in I'm directly in the line of sight of a nightmare so I just stopped for the night since it's just shitty/unfair for a stealth game and probably just requires you to save/load or zone in/out until it doesn't spawn/despawns/spawns somewhere more reasonable.

Going to enjoy both NES games next month. Slay the spire is a probably, assuming I actually buy it.

And thus, Corneria was saved by the iconic duo of Peppy and Fay.

I really enjoyed this one, it is a neat little time capsule considering its extremely delayed release. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the walker in particular.

well, IDK if I'll be able to finish it even if I rush things since I assume I have half the main story left? dunno how many mandatory areas/missions that I'd have to go through and what I can skip.

ah well I'll just knock star fox 2 out quickly now at least.
