because boss had a bad day and henchman guy said something dumb or was in the way or some shit.

like last night i was watching the show Snowfall and the one main character is asking his crew how they got found out by the cops and another guy says something like "we didnt say or do anything, maybe ya'll did"

and yeah that was the mans last day on earth. I like, felt bad for him, ya know.

The worst in my opinion is the main kids chaperone in jurassic world. She does nothing wrong and ends up getting picked up and dropped by a pterosaur several times then eaten by the gigantic underwater dinosaur. Its the most gruesome death in the film and its totally undeserved.

Yeah that death seemed so out of place in that film

did they really need to have her screaming in agony for so long

This was why Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery went out of its way to show that henchmen are people too!

I generally dislike the tendency for bad guys to just randomly kill their subordinates since it's a stupid, overused trope.

Otherwise I'm a horror fan so I'm used to seeing a lot of characters die, almost none of whom "deserved" it and many of whom seemed like good people. However, the deaths that bothered me the most were the ones from Harper's Island, partly because they do a lot more to build the victims up as people (because it's a show rather than just a film), partly because the other storylines involved, and also -- of course -- because many of the victims seem like legitimately good people, but a good chunk of it also comes down to the handling of the murders. The first killing is somebody tied to the cruise's propeller, so we see this poor guy get killed while the guests are all partying aboveboard and wondering where this guy is and then the second involves the godfather/uncle falling into a trap where we watch him helplessly flail until he thinks "help" has arrived but it's the killer.

Of course, a lot of deaths in horror are *supposed* to be awful so you become more concerned for the remaining survivors. Unless a film has an early kill, you gradually come to expect that perhaps nobody is going to die -- or, at least, none of the major and significant supporting characters -- which is rare, but sometimes happens.

Not for nothing, but what you just described has me interested in finally checking the movie out because that sounds like a crazy sequence of events.
