"In the last few weeks I've actually talked to two different indie devs whose deals with Epic ensure that no matter how many copies they sell, they'll at least break even--a rare bit of stability in a volatile industry. But, oh no, gamers have to use a store with fewer features!!!"

"A few more thoughts:
1) I am in favor of anything that helps give more developers stability in an unstable field
2) I am in favor of anything that helps break up Steam's monopoly
3) Messages like this are so common, you can deal with a little snark"

"I should of course add that 4) Epic Games has plenty of its own issues (including a culture of crunch) and its CEO is reportedly worth over $7 billion, which is in and of itself more unethical than ANYTHING involving the Epic Games Store and should be illegal"

- Twitter

I get that he's pro developer, but undermining the complaints and being condescending towards them will make things worse. I like his investigative journalism into studios and how shit goes down, but this serves no purpose.

I really don't understand how people haven't realized this yet. Nobody's opinion has ever been changed by being insulted. It just makes them dig their heels in harder, get defensive and seek out opinions that already match their own.

People need to be educated, learned and not shouted at.

It seems like a huge problem these days, conflicting idealogies that end up turning all sides into fanatics because of how they choose to 'share' these views. Then again, maybe it's just the internet and its way of making relatively minor problems seem big when IRL nobody really cares.
