Amendment - clue's in the name.

Any of it can be subject to change.

It's arguable that the mistake is that it was written as a set of rights without responsibilities. If you tell someone what they can do, but not what is expected of them, you run the risk of having people behave like entitled children.

When you have people treating firearms like security blankets that then screech about their "rights", you're left arguing with adult children.

It has always been infringed upon. 1934, 1986, and 1994 were big ones.

Stupid ass shit like a rifle has to have 16" barrel or you pay a tax stamp and fill out a shitload of paperwork or call it a "pistol".

I'm pretty 2A but to say a person should be able to buy a rocket launcher at Cabelas in kinda insane.

As far as people owning nukes; if you're rich enough to have a nuke then I bet someone will sell you one. Who the fuck wants a nuke other than some terrorist?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

The Second Amendment was based partially on the right to keep and bear arms in English common law and was influenced by the English Bill of Rights of 1689.

An arm is a weapon, which is why guns were called fire-arms.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Weapon

A weapon, arm or armament is any implement or device that can be used with intent to inflict damage or harm. Weapons are used to increase the efficacy and efficiency of activities such as hunting, crime, law enforcement, self-defense, and warfare. In broader context, weapons may be construed to include anything used to gain a tactical, strategic, material or mental advantage over an adversary or enemy target.

While ordinary objects sticks, rocks, bottles, chairs, vehicles can be used as weapons, many are expressly designed for the purpose; these range from simple implements such as clubs, axes and swords, to complicated modern firearms, tanks, intercontinental ballistic missiles, biological weapons, and cyberweapons. Something that has been re-purposed, converted, or enhanced to become a weapon of war is termed weaponized, such as a weaponized virus or weaponized laser.

So why does the second amendment only mean firearms, whe it simply says arms?
