Its hard to choose since most of them are so good imo

Had a difficult time with the first map post timeskip. Used divine charge like 5 times, way more than any other map because of the way the units showed up. Ignutz kept dying since I stopped using him in battles. But I am excited to see everyone all grown up now! ^.^

Annette, Hilda, and Marianne are middling. Annette's hair looks much better but the colors on her outfit look so weird. Marianne literally looks the same as her old self, and Hilda has rockin' titties but those hoop earring look awful

Dorothea, Petra, Lysithea, and Leonie all are complete upgrades after the timeskip

Little late, but I'm doing my first playthrough right now as Blue Lions and loving it. Wish I could have seen the requirements for the Master classes sooner in-game so I could have planned out my characters a bit better, but oh well.

The only other Fire Emblem I've played through is 7, which I loved and is probably one of my favorite games. This game is equally addicting. Not sure if I want to run Golden Deer or Black Eagle next. I'm at 32 hours and barely on chapter 8. Feel like I'm slow. >_>

Mid-game spoilers for Blue Lions path.

So I just finished the first chapter of the time skip. They fucking killed Dedue off. God dammit. I just promoted him to War Master. Guess Gilbert will be replacing him. RIP Dedue. You got dealt a shitty hand in life.

Everyone looks so weird now. Mercedes especially. Dimitri is a pirate now though, so that's cool.

I'm also not sure if it's because I've been doing all the extra auxiliary and battle chapters as they became available, but I feel like I'm having an extremely easy time. Apart from Flayn who joined my class like 7 levels behind everyone, pretty much everyone on my team is like level 30. Strongest enemies I've fought so far are level... 28 I think? I defeated the Death Knight the last two times he appeared. Thinking next playthrough will definitely be on Hard.

I'm curious now how Black Eagles could possibly play out... Wondering if Edelgard basically betrays her class in secret on that route, or Byleth is in on it with her and you end up fighting Dimitri, or what.

I just finished my Blue Lions path today, loved it, and I immediately started Golden Deer and I'm on Chapter 3 now. I'm also watching a let's player I frequently watch on youtube do Black Eagles since basically everyone picked BE, so there's no shortage of that run.

Naw man, Edelgard, Merc, and Ingrid look great. Bernie is arguable but I'm fine with her.

Been avoiding these topics, but now that timeskip happened I feel a bit more comfortable.

I'm on BL route for my first run. Also snagged Dorothea, Ignatz (kinda by accident) and Hilda Hilda.

Really enjoying post timeskip. Haven't got too far, but the difficulty definitely ramps up, especially for paralogues with a weak character. The Bernie and Petra paralogue kicked my dick in. Thought I finished it up with the last goober, but then enemies spawned from three corners of the maps and wiped out a few characters on the outskirts cause I thought the map was done. Had to backup a few turns to put myself in position for the ambushes.

Game is played more quickly. Fewer people to talk to in monastery, which is noice.

Oh, I hate the Paralogues that tell you to get to a certain point in the map, and then drop surprise reinforcements on you.

Granted people complain about the vast majority of the maps being push oriented instead of defending, but theres much better ways to execute defense maps then that.

Oh good. If you do a Paralogue with someone, they won't be required for an additional Paralogue, so you could ignore that character.

Also wow. I'm going to end up with a scant three Paralogues in Part 2 after doing like eight in Part 1.

Part 2 Paralogues require both characters for obvious reasons.

It really sucks that I picked the route that locks out the most Paralogues first because I wasnt planning on recruiting a lot of extra students the next runs I do (I got all my first go) I sided with Edelgard.

Kinda sucks because it means she doesnt get a paralogue in other routes making her even more unused for me because her spell list feels so lacking

Ferdinand and Caspar are difficult to get outside of Black Eagles, since they dont B support with Byleth before timeskip. I definitely recommend getting Caspar in BL because I heard Mercedes has extra dialogue in that route.

Shame you are locked out of their paralogues if you side with Edelgard though

Btw, here are the post timeskip paralogues that require two characters from different houses:

Caspar/Mercedes (BE/BL)
Ferdinand/Lysithea (BE/GD)
Linhardt/Leonie (BE/BL)

The first two cant be done if you side with Edelgard, for story reasons

I really like the level of challenge on hard now that I've passed the timeskip. It's just enough for me to think about.

Also I've ended up with 17 characters, which is a bit of a mess. It's hard settling on just 10 to use for any given chapter.

Who did you pick to be your dancer? A character you thought would be fitting or just the dead weight on your team so they can at least do something or value?

I picked Marianne

She's already a support character and her relic is a sword so she gets use out of Sword Avoid +20. I don't Dance with her every turn either.

Well, I'm glad I did. I wasn't a huge fan of him at first, but he grew on me and he's a beast. Glad he's alive, although it puts me in a weird spot with Gilbert.

Honestly she is a big consensus pick for Dancer

Partly because shes the only practical Rescue user iirc, but her magic stat isnt the best. So you get more mileage out of her being a Dancer too

Just finished my BL playthrough. Question about the end... (massive spoilers/my thoughts and opinions)

- Unless I somehow completely missed it, they never revealed the identity of the Death Knight. In fact, I'm not even sure if it was one of those things where you reduce them to 0 and they run/teleport, or if he even died.

- The search for Rhea being so long and then the end being, "We found her, she quits as Archbishop. The end." was kinda weak.

- I couldn't make any of the ultimate weapons due to lack of Mythril. The Dark Merchant not selling rare ores (even with a limited stock) is a missed opportunity.

- The Monestary could use more activities. Exploring is almost always superior to Resting, as you can max everyone's motivation (unless you recruited a ton of people, then I suppose Rest is slightly better) and still have points for Advanced Drills. The sauna existing but doing absolutely nothing is strange. Activities like using the sauna, mining, and patrolling the Monestary are just a few things that come to mind.

- The little girl they pick up who ends up killing Rodrigue was so obvious, especially after Monika (who was also obvious). They should have done something else here.

- Should I do BE or GD next? And if you can explain it without spoiling anything, how do you start the Church route?

Everyone suspects its Jeritza. This is discussed a lot in part 1. This character is also gone for the rest of the game after Flayns abduction. Also, no, their identity is not officially revealed in Black Eagles route either... which is a huge miss. Knowing the motivations would be cool.

Considering everything that Im aware is revealed about her, the saints, and the 10 (11) Elites, I dont know how the plot can reconcile that with how things were before. Keep in mind I dont know exactly how all routes end.

Have you been shattering monster armor? Doing battles that gave ore as a reward? I had like 30 mythril ore at the end.

True. Though, since the deploy limit so low youre really just limited to skilling up your main army and adjutants. And you can also solely faculty train if you want, because feeding students gifts raises motivation too without activity points.

I cant comment on this because I havent played Blue Lions.

Well its a little difficult to say. Church and GD are supposed to have similar maps in Part 2 which might make playing them back to back tedious. Black Eagles is supposed to have the foil plot to BL but if you play that and church back to back you end up having the same class for a long time.

As for Church route, its easy to do. Theres an obvious choice during chapter 11. If you want to do BE, then you need to talk to Edelgard and perform the task she asks you to do. That opens up the choice to do the BE route (but you arent locked into it until the choice happens). You need C support (or maybe C+) for her to pose the task to you.

You get to know her better in BE. As a matter of fact, I've been noticing a lot of the loose plot threads get explained in the other routes.

@Alpha218 I'm on mobile so quoting and adding all the necessary tags is a pain, but I appreciate it. I remember Jeritza was the main suspect, I just thought they'd ultimately confirm it at some point. Kinda weird they didn't.

I'm gonna make it a point to shatter all monster armor going forward. I just killed them in the simplest way possible most of the time.

I started Black Eagles today, just gonna stick with the class this time. I accidentally recruited Dorothea on Blue Lions and just stuck with her. Think I'm gonna make an alternate save at 11 so I don't have to replay the first half of the game when I decide to do Church route eventually. Probably save Golden Deer until they release Maddening/Lunatic and see how I do.

I'm definitely quicker going about the exploration stuff, and I was able to skip a lot of the early story...but also I've been fiddling around with abilities and such more, so I'm progressing at about the same pace
