Aaantlion 08/06/19 10:32:19 PM #7:	While I like collecting figurines, the MSRP on Amiibos is pretty fucking insane and, unlike the other toys-to-life lines, they rarely ever go on sale or get clearanced. Not to mention that the level of detail on the figurines is a little lacking for something at that price point. At this point, I think I still own fewer than 10 Amiibos (one or two were a gift, the silver Mario I paid full retail for, and then the rest were sales/clearance, including Palutena which I only paid $2 for.) By contrast, I wound up getting a whole bunch of Skylanders junk because they were $1-3 at times (which is cheaper than most blind-boxed figures) and then Disney Infinity I was paying $4-5 for most of them, with the most expensive ones still only being like $7 or $8. I've literally never used any of the Amiibos or DI figures in a game, but I liked what little I played of Skylanders (although I disliked that figures were necessary for play with Skylanders and, afaik, DI; at least Amiibos were more supplemental).
