I live with my dad and my sister. I'd love to have my own place but it's just not a good idea at the moment. My dad's 70, my sister will be 50 this year and has a myriad of health problems, and there's very little income right now. Hopefully my sister is approved for social security within the next month, but even then I'll probably stay with them for the time being.

it feels around here most people opt to live with their parents for a long ass time. lol

i know my godmother has a kid who is like 35 and still lives with her, and even got his woman and kids living with her as well. but as far as i can tell, they're all happy.

I'm 34 and had to move back home a couple of years ago to help them with bills. I knew they were struggling, but didnt realize until after I moved in they were literally a month away from losing the house.

They're doing fine now, and I'll probably find an apartment soon.

In Egypt, it's customary for young adults to live with their parents until marriage, ABC News' Randa Ali in Cairo reports.

Alia, 26, of Cario, said there's a dynamic in Egyptian homes where you are still seen as a "kid" even if you are approaching 30. Young adults choose to live at home because it's "just how things are done" and it's not easy to go against the grain, she said.

But in Hong Kong, a whopping 76 percent of adults aged 18 to 35 still live with their parents, according to the Urban Research Group at City University of Hong Kong. It's hardly surprising; Hong Kong is one of the world's most expensive cities. The average cost for a typical apartment in Hong Kong is 74 percent higher than a comparable apartment in New York City.

The excuse is they are not of a cultural mind that is based on bowing to the needs of a housing market and corportations but actually care about family.

I'm 32. Moved out 14 years ago.

I've been out of the house since leaving for college, and honestly, if I didn't have a girlfriend (now wife), I would've opted for living at home to save on rent. Looking back, paying anywhere between $800-$1200 every month, for about 6 years just on rent kinda sucks.

Or maybe I would've gotten a house instead of renting out apartments.
