So for example, Demon's Souls:

I guess what confused me is that Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn:

I'm like this too. If you don't give me the original case then I'm not buying it. It always baffles the shit out of me how so many games at gamestop don't have the original cases. Like how are so many people losing them or breaking them? I can't remember ever breaking a case after the PS1 era where they seemed more prone to the little tab things breaking that hold the disk

You always get more store credit than you do cash, which is why the values are different. The values don't count any promotions in them. So yeah, you should get the extra $5 as long as the store credit is $2 or more.

Is this also a thing for ebgames in Canada?

I got $7 for Tales of Vesperia 360 (a console I don't have anymore, and I have the Switch version) but they wouldn't take some of my wrapped 360 games due to some store policy even the nerds working there found stupid, but they had to adhere to it because people get fired.

They wouldn't take my steelbook Gears of War at all but another guy in the store said he'd give me $5 for it. Since that thing is heavy and would be a pain to ship, plus I'd get like $10 on eBay for it (it hasn't gone up in value AT ALL), I decided to just let him buy it. I'll unload the rest on eBay when I have time.

In the end, purging is purging, right?

Its a policy to preemptively prevent stolen games being sold to the store

It's flawed (games can be bundled with systems and the person may not want it, so they bring it fresh from the box still sealed)

And easily dodged around (you can just open the game before going in, we'll never know)

But usually if the game is old, I let it slide at my store. Nobody important sells new 360 games afterall

This is what happened when I got my Xbone - I bought it used but the store threw in a new copy of Rainbow Six Siege and codes for the two Rainbow Six Vegas games.

To answer these. Yes, Demon Souls would be $8.30. You only get the extra $5 if you choose store credit. You won't get it if you choose the cash option. If the website says $25 store credit for the Fire Emblem game, then you'd get $30.

The minimum qualification is $2 store credit. Ignore the cash numbers, as they don't qualify for the $5 boost.

So I just traded in a copy of Black Ops III and Madden 18 that I had received in a bundle of games. I got 7.25 for BOIII which is pretty cool. But then I got a whopping 25 fucking cents for Madden. Wow that's ridiculous. Still sold it though cause ew Madden.

This is because it's an annual release and all of the players trade in the previous year's game toward the new one. Ergo, they have gobs of copies that are probably just going to end up buried in New Mexico.
