Well I don't know if I was actual alcoholic but very close. Feels good not to be on that crap. Now when I do drink I feel shitty for days, physical and mentally.

Good for you, TC. Alcohol is poison. I developed a drinking problem in grad school and have been working against it since. Had some vacation/cultural beers and am none the better for it.

If it was recent, they didn't contain alcohol. They contained "Simaa", a Finnish drink during Valpurgis, made from brown sugar, lemon, yeast and a can of beer. Then you let it carbonate. It turns alcoholic if you keep it keep going on later. These had not. Also you know when they are ready when the raisins that you put in the bottles has risen to the top.

My friend is going through the same thing right now. After his mom died he started to hit the bottle hard. Then he ended up with an OUI, which means he can't drive his car anywhere but where its a necessity and is in classes. But since he was forced to quit he seems to have taken to it very well and doesn't want to go back. His mom died from medical problems from drinking :/

you are probably still an alcoholic even though you have not drank, you can easily slip right back in thinking you don't have a problem anymore so be cautious!! drinking heavily changes the brain.

Did you have a problem stopping? I drank 8 beers a night for years, until I decided to stop. And I had no problems doing so, except for some mild insomnia which cleared up in less than 2 weeks. I haven't had a drink in two years, and I don't have any desire to start again.
