OMG! That's flaming! I'd report you.... if I knew what offense that fell under now. This is so confusing! (Well, I guess flaming is under "Abusive Behavior" now, but it could be trolling which is no longer against the rules.)

i mean there's always the "other" option. Why do people have so much trouble with the "other" option? It happens on the poll of the day, too. everyone is always like "omg i can't believe they didn't put the thing that is most relevant to me on the poll today" even when there is clearly an other option.
At least this one lets you add in additional details.

Trolling is still moddable. Per SBA himself:

The most controversial of these changes is likely going to be to "Trolling", which we've renamed and moved away from being a one-click report. The full definition is "Intentionally antagonizes other users by being inflammatory, irrelevant, disruptive, or offensive", but far too many people use it as a catch-all for reporting any message they don't agree with, leading to the most inaccurate reports by far of any available category.

...which, honestly, I can understand. "Trolling" has changed definition over the years. 15-20 years ago, when it first rose to prominence as shorthand, it was basically taking the piss for the lulz, deliberately trying to piss people off just by being intentionally clueless or baiting. These days, trolling usually has a less shit-disturbing, more outright aggressive connotation. It's an old and imprecise term, which is why it got retired.

Although they also state they can do everything up to and including ban you for no reason. Although a ban would require a severe breach of probably the law.

I agree. People do seem to use trolling as a catch-all when they want to mark something...
