This has to be the most shocking retirement ever

Jordan's first retirement and Magic Johnson's retirement were far more shocking.

Ive been a Bulls fan my whole life, and I still remember watching Jordans retirement news hitting local TV as a kid. It felt impossible that it was happening outta nowhere.

But beyond that, Magics retirement will probably be the most shocking. Learning he was HIV positive felt like he was announcing his death sentence on TV. All people died after a matter of time when they got HIV back then.

I have no doubt that Jacoby Brissett is their starter for the 2019 regular season. Kind of wonder if they'll end up with one of the big names expected to come out in next year's draft.

Yeah. They literally fired Peyton Manning for him (football old and off of a major injury, but still).

Yeah. They literally fired Peyton Manning for him (football old and off of a major injury, but still).

Peyton was an unknown. They didnt want to gamble 1. Paying manning a truckload if they were unsure he could still play and simultaneously passing in Luck who was guaranteed to be great and also would be on a rookie contract.

Peyton missed an entire season and was also older and the colts doctors didnt know how he would even play they didnt just fire him

I wasn't suggesting that I objected to the move.

Edit: Also, they cut him, and cutting is equivalent to firing. Not sure if you're suggesting otherwise, though.

I was a junior. >_>

I was a Senior in high school. Even saw the Colts play that Manningless year because they were playing my Steelers. We almost lost to the Colts lmao

I had to work during the game where Stanford came and just rolled us over. Would have been cool to see him in person at least.

Another fun thing about this is fantasy football implications. Yahoo is reporting him as 92% owned, and Im assuming hes the starter for most of those people.

In deep leagues or 2 QB leagues, that could be disastrous for people who took him as their #1 QB.

First time I played one guy in my league had drafted Adrian Peterson and this was right during his scandal.

We elected not to tell him just to see how long it took for him to notice.

It was about a game or two.
