I won't say things are perfect, but things are going well enough that any complaint these days is seen as whining. As strict as my grandparents were, one thing they taught me early on is to "suck it up" because people naturally pick and tease others, and "letting them see you sweat" doesn't help matters at all. The oldest Millenial turned 18 a bit over a year and a half before 9/11. A year and a half after that was the start of the war in Iraq. The War on Terror was the 'great battle' the upper half of the Millenials fought. The oldest Millenials are the children of the younger Baby Boomers. The younger Millenials are the grandchildren of the older Baby Boomers.
