you should watch dragon ball

I'm actually okay with that because the other world is a part of the universe and stuff actually happens there. We pretty much follow Goku there and the story world is further expanded.

I'm also okay with Beric Dondarrion and The Mountain in GoT. The Mountain didn't even come back as himself (though you barely know him anyway, I feel like). Beric had his gimmick, which was unique to him. It felt weird when Jon was brought back (especially when Melisandre pretty much admits to Stannis' wife that her magic is fake prior). It didn't even feel that impactful (but I guess it was the loophole to get Jon out of serving). Otherwise, when (major) characters died, it was REALLY important and actually affected the story.

As for comics, I find them hard to get into. There's too many of them and I think the writers spend a lot of time trying to figure out characters. When they finally do figure out what a character is about, they have old stories that show characters doing uncharacteristic things. Also, there seems to be a lot of short-sighted decisions made when they write stories (like killing Superman? How long was he even dead for before he got another comic?).

I think that's where the appeal of the MCU comes in. Writers have a lot of (good and bad) work to reference and (mostly) know what a character is like and what their motives are. The information is consolidated neatly.

Oh! Did anybody else find it strange when Antman came back and roamed streets that were still piled high with garbage? It'd been five whole years- I mean you have support groups but nobody bothered to clean up the trash?

No, I believe it. Flint is still in a water crisis AFAIK. It's been over 5 years.

though it was kind of odd in homecoming that a highschooler who wasn't blipped, was trying to romance someone who was.

Hawkeye/Black Widow scene was probably the saddest in the movie for me. There's just no way anyone, especially heroes, would just stand by and watch their good friend give up their life. It just went to show how much they care about each other.

that wasn't the point of the scene though.

the point was that they both wanted to be the one who dies and had a shitty little slap fight about it.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Endgame.

Endgame is a Rick and Morty film confirmed lol

They both didn't want the other person to die. They were each okay with dying themselves, but would never wish that on their friend.

They both wanted to die so that the other would live since they were such good friends and love each other.

So yeah, that was the point of the scene

While some superhero movies can have a lot of subtext, that scene specifically has literally zero so I don't think it's a hill worth dying on.
