Why is Cassian Andor noted in the timeline? Like he's an important character rather than a worthless Han Solo clone with a ten times less compelling personality.

He's getting his own show.

It's the same reason Obi Wan Kenobi is noted in the timeline.

They just don't have fancy logos yet.

I think he has his own series/movie planned.

The entries on the top are the main films, the ones on the bottom are the secondary films/series.

I am legitimately curious who exactly wants a Cassian Andor series. I think anyone here would be hard-pressed to give even 3 adjectives to describe his "character." That's an odd choice to build a spin-off series around.

I think Disney still wants to believe that Rogue One made money because of their original story and characters and not the fact they shoehorned Darth Vader in at the last minute.

Calm down, I'm only kind of joking. I know it also made money just because it had Star Wars in the title

There's a new "canon" EU with books and graphic novels. It would seriously clutter up that graphic, though.

The Rebellion is a movement against the Empire, which is the ruling galactic government during the first Star Wars trilogy.

In the new trilogy, the Resistance is the main military force of the New Republic, which is the ruling galactic government at the start of TFA. The resistance is against the spread of the rising First Order, which was created from the remnants of the Empire.

To put it more precisely.

There IS a military force of the New Republic, but it's vastly stripped down compared to the war against the Empire.

The Resistance is not that. The Resistance is members of the New Republic who essentially went rogue and established a smaller fighting force. The Resistance actively fights against the encroaching First Order, while the main New Republic governing body sits on their thumbs when Starkiller Base rolls around. It's still unknown what became of the actual New Republic military in the wake of the Hosnian Cataclysm.

I'm not saying it was a good joke, but the wordplay is factually there. :-P

Frankly for my money, the whole Mustafar scene didn't have to happen. Like have no Vader in the entire film until the last five minutes. Imagine the pop-off on that.

For my money, don't put Vader in the film at all. Much less Leia. In fact, make it a thriller about Galen Erso's time working on the Death Star.

Odd you pick that time frame because there was a pretty heavy saturation then, too.

Sure it was just the three movies, but there were books, comics, games, mechandise, and promotions up the butt for both Special Edition and the PT.

Maybe it's the fact that there are more movies and TV shows?

it was (mostly) promotional material for the new movies, though. im specifically talking about new content. i largely ignored the EU books and comics so the only 'content' i got outside of the movies was the games and if you ignore the movie tie-ins there was just enough original content to be exciting.
