If your joints bother you that walk would be hell for you as it was super hilly. My knee would bother me occasionally but not enough to make me slow down.

Yeah the walk I'm basing that on right near the end has just one hill and I died a little every time I had to do it.

Spouse used to walk it every day to/from work before they got a car. All kinds of weather. I was impressed at that tbh.

'Hey I need something can you bring me it?'
*dies inside*
'Sure sweetie. No problem.'

Have you noticed there's a lot of things out there that seem really pointless that actually would help disabled people? I heard there's something about normalizing it for non-disabled people to make sure to get enough sales basically.

I used to walk like that. But the road I live on now sucks for walking so its killed my motivation. Its like beach sand in areas and just rutted up and looking like a old washboard in others.

With my new job I'll be walking a lot on the job though

There's no way I could do that. I can hardly walk enough some days to do household stuff.

I had to partially get up on a counter to get something out of a cabinet and slipped my leg/hip a bit. I'm not gonna waste the energy I have to just walk 2-5 miles per day.

(Plus rather not risk someone trying to pick me up again, someone trying to run me over again, or general drunken assholes. But that's a whole other set of issues.)

At best do about 6-8 miles in a week total walking. Lately due to pain spikes been really low on walking, even for me.

Going on an hour walk every day after work isn't a mentally exhausting activity. Sitting all day definitely isn't physically exhausting. So going on a calm, slightly physical but not mentally taxing walk after work isn't suggesting the impossible, within reason of other responsibilities. It's also a great time to meditate.

I meant work can be mentally exhausting. Going on an hour walk can be physically exhausting for some. Especially after an 8 hour work day. Going on a walk while mentally exhausted can be bad, though. So, its different for you then it is for other people who work for a living. Some people work long days at a mentally taxing job. Some have physical jobs. Just because they dont want to stand around after work for no reason doesnt mean theyre lazy. They still go to work everyday to provide for themselves and their families.

If they had physical jobs they wouldn't have a need to go on a walk during the day. All I'm suggesting is that its very easy to spend a little bit of time being moderately active, especially if your job requires great periods of inactivity.

Also when I work, it's to support my family while being in a job I enjoy. You keep saying jobs are mentally taxing, I agree, but a brisk walk isn't.

Standing for exercise isn't standing around for no reason.

I already said the walk isnt mentally taxing. But in many places, its not safe to go out walking if youre mentally exhausted. Being mentally exhausted can make it hard to focus on everything around you. And you cant fully pay attention to your surroundings. Thats dangerous. Especially in certain places.

To some people, standing around after work just because they have periods of inactivity is standing around for nothing. It might not even do much. Its be better to just wait until you have a day off or free time and go to the gym, instead of standing around doing nothing after work. And many people do. Even then, if can only do so much...

Same. I usually want to relax after a fill day of work. Especially if I work both jobs. I do have some stuff I take care of when I get home. But Im usually pretty tired. On day where I work both jobs, I usually dont have time for video games. Haha.

Stand the entire time you watch your favourite hour long program or when you play a game for more than hour or while watching a movie.

The basis of qigong is standing and while walking is better, simply standing instead of sitting is a great increase in physical activity.

Standing is better than sitting. For only an hour, I dont think itll do much. It technically is better. But I think their time is better spent doing something else and getting physical exercise when they actually have time for it. Most people have at least one day off when they can do stuff. And some offices even offer a gym area they can use during lunch. Though that can suck because you still need to eat at some point, but eh...

I was going to use Post Mates. I figured I'd give them a shit since they were running a promo that waived $100 in delivery fees and I was running late that.morning so I didn't get a chance.to pack a lunch for work. I downloaded the app and saw they had very reasonable delivery fees. The sort of fees you get from most pizza places when getting it delivered. So even after the promo was over I figured I would definitely still use them, with such nominal fees. So I picked the restaurant, ordered my food, got to the checkout page and saw there were some pretty unreasonable delivery fees being added. They called them something other than delivery fees, of course. And then they also wanted me to tip the driver. Once the promo ran out the regular delivery fees would also be added to any future orders. I didn't place my order and immediately requested my account be closed.

I only considered giving them a shot because of their no delivery fee promo. But deceptive practices like that have ensured that I will never use their service.

If I have to choose I always get active before work as opposed to after. But honestly even a brisk walk in summer weather can be incredibly exhausting. Today in my area we hit 95F andwith the added 70-80% humidity, an hour walk can be very uncomfortable experience.

Excuses, excuses.

Every single object in the universe is moving. Staying still is death. Some rocks move more than some humans move. That's weird.

You can call them excuses if you want. But you dont know everybody or what they have going on in their lives. According to you, you dont work for a living and only work when you want to for fun.

Im glad my job will involve walking cause I aint gonna wanna do shit after a day. Pushing 13 hour shifts theres a fair chance I'll even be too tired to play video games.

Same. I usually want to relax after a fill day of work. Especially if I work both jobs. I do have some stuff I take care of when I get home. But Im usually pretty tired. On day where I work both jobs, I usually dont have time for video games. Haha.

Yeah im just happy every other week I'll have a 3 day weekend. It alternates a 5 day work week and a 4 day work week. Get every other weekend off.

All restaurants are far enough away from my house to make delivery a great option, but none will deliver here. We only recently got the post office actually delivering some packages to the house.

What about the third party food delivery systems? Like Uber eats and stuff...

@LinkPizza

Almost no one delivers here, LinkPizza. Not even the post office at times. I guess we are just too far off the beaten path. FedEx, OnTrac, and UPS are the only ones who deliver to our front gate. The post office is slightly better now, but I dont expect it to last.
