Wouldn't' retiring early from a SMC be a sign of NOT being insanely competitive? I mean it's not like Vayne was char's last horse in the race. Not even his highest priority I think. It would blow to lose anything you were actively backing in such a manner though.

Honestly it isn't completely likely I will stop participating. I did plan to stop playing this next year, but it wasn't definite. Last year was rough, and I'll probably never come that close again. A goal I had this contest was getting Vayne a decent finish. He had never finished in the top half, and given the deaths of Wakka and Basch it was likely I could have seen it pretty easy. A simple little goal really. Now it's gone and didn't have to be. I only took the trade to free up Genny so Rufus could get through the round. Initially I was just going to leave him to chance this round because we're at DragonCon. I was simply going to get Tidus and tell Genny to save Vayne. I decided to try and protect one of the other characters I had since the opportunity was there.

I like how you added that last part in there, yet yeah your timestamp proves you flaked entirely and would have on anyone that took your trade. But I wonder if you had screwed someone of importance instead of me would you get by with this nonchalant response. Other people would and could burn this to the ground but obviously I'm just vcharon and literally have some people replying as if this wasn't a complete screwjob on your end.

And you don't even offer me something for ruining the only feasible goal I could actually obtain.

I have never flaked on a trade. I even save characters I hate or for users I don't like. What possible gain is there for me to screw you like that? In what universe does it make sense for me to intentionally screw over a Tidus fan?

And Seymour will never win, or go beyond 6th so why bother. Literally participating to participate is all I'm doing. It simply didn't read very apologetic to me, and for ruining the only real goal I had that bites.

Well yeah but it's a good calculated risk (assuming the other guy doesn't randomly disappear). In charon's shoes I would've taken it and then I'd be quite annoyed.

(I also read MZero's initial post as "wow this guy doesn't care" but apparently that's not the case so never mind)
