Which one? It's not like there was just one house.

I didn't grow up in any single house and I don't think all that moving was because we were buying new houses every few years.

hell no, I think my parents are addicted to moving.

in BC as a small child we lived in at least 3 different places, and in Alberta they've lived in at least 10 different places.

Nope.

I've never lived in the same house for more than 5 years, although two of those were on the same street. My parents traded up on houses every few years until the real estate market crashed back in 2008. They moved out of florida to tennessee a couple of years later. The banks came after them due to debts left unpaid in florida, and so they sold their house and moved to a new one two years ago.

Yep, my father and grandparents still live there. Well, the house I was in from 4 till adulthood anyways, the duplex my parents lived in when I was born was a rental, but still exists today. I even drive by it once every couple of years to see how the neighborhood is doing.

I wish we still owned it. The location was awesome, and while it was very old it was a massive house. They sold it when I was sixteen and now I have my own house.

no

we (me and my family) learned it was up for sheriff's sale while my dad was terminally ill in the hospital (mom died in 2001). my dad owed so much debt, that there was nothing my family could do to stop it. so I moved in with my sister and brother in law

there are times that I miss the place, and I see it every now and then when i'm out with my sister and she drives by it, and i'm glad the new people renovated it, instead of destroying it

I was in my grandparents will to receive about 1/3 of the estate. I'd lived with them since I was 12. When my grandparents passed away, I offered my aunt $300,000 for the house in it's current condition. Since the property was 1/3 mine, I'd only have had to get a loan for $200K, and with $100K equity already in the house, getting a loan should have been easy.

But my aunt had talked to a real estate agent who conned her into thinking she could get a half million for the place. There's no way I could afford that much, and I couldn't afford any other houses in that area, so I quit my job and moved out of state.

The house had a lot of things that had to be fixed that I could have done myself or that I wouldn't have bothered with (like old but clean carpet), so they had to spend a ton of money for repairs and upgrades. In the end the house only sold for $400,000, the realtor took an obscene 12% comission, and with all the repairs and fees and stuff, only made about $300,000.

The houses I lived in from when I was born up to when we moved to Florida in 1985 - nope. Moved every couple of years (Navy brat) then.

The one I'm currently living in - my parents bought it, paid off the mortgage around the time I was going to university, and then sold it to me late December 2004. I paid off the mortgage August 2018 (Dad says I'm the youngest in 4 generations to have paid off a mortgage) and still reside in that house to this day.
