Just sounds like a cop made a mistake not knowing idk the full story from an Internet screenshot.

You cant know them all. I learn new laws every day and they also change all the time. Last month roommates hitting each was considered domestic battery now its considered regular battery. That being said, Ive never stopped one someone now knowing the probable cause reason or reasonable suspicion why. In city its a law to spit in public, in county jurisdiction its not

We need way more police than lawyers. If every cop required a law degree, we'd never hire any--nobody's getting a law degree to do a job that has a high risk of death or injury.

This is why courts exist, though. If you think you were doing something legal, fight it in court. You'll probably win (if you're right).

Reminds me of this...Being high without a possession can't be a felony.
And if it is, that's fucked up.

Either way, there are much better ways of handling this.
The girls are going down a bad road, but getting in the system this young isn't really going to help.

As a Felony? And did he have to go that far, the girls were relatively cooperative.
Should have forced them to take the carts back and took their info...

Side note: Public intoxication is apparently not a crime in my town anymore.
I have to assume they tried to get someone with it, and they countered with 100's of people that are intoxicated in Public every weekend, and almost every day during the summer here. Make sense to me.

I guess that's when you go down the disorderly conduct route if the suspect is making a scene.
