Current Events > What if an incarnation of Ganon/Ganondorf didn't want to be evil?

Like, there was a Zelda game in which the game's incarnation of Ganondorf is actually a decent guy trying to do good for those around him, but he's aware of his "birthright" and is trying his hardest to fight against it (with the curse constantly pushing back against his attempts with ever-increasing force).

The game would probably end with him succumbing to his destiny as one of Ganon's many reincarnations, but the journey there would be very interesting.

Have a good Ganon with an evil Link that pushes Ganon too far because Link keeps messing with him. Have Link be like a fanatic or something who believes in a warped prophecy and sees Ganon (and maybe the Gerudos) as evil that needs to be stopped.

In a way since he reincarnates there's never consequences for his actions except for the times he's imprisoned. He also won in one timeline.

That's true, but if BotW is any indication, he seems to lose a bit of his sanity and self with each defeat and reincarnation, ultimately culminating with the mindless force of nature that we see as Calamity Ganon (regardless of BotW's placement on the timeline, if it's even on there).

Nope, I had no idea of that, but Wind Waker is interesting since his motives were good, at least (he wanted good land for his people).

Not true. People misinterpret that dialogue badly. He didn't want the Hyrule "for his people." It was always for himself.

Yeah, this is correct.

I suppose the only way the OP would work is if Ganon himself had a change of heart at some point, but in the end still could not fight against his destiny.

But was OOT Ganondorf really evil ?

I mean he eliminated all the Stalfos in Hyrule Field.

Lon Lon was ran by a lazy person but Ganondorf put someone more dependable in charge.

Hyrule Town was full of muggers, conmen, people peddling without a license, selling stolen goods, selling weapons to children, selling mobile and stationary explosive devices, illegal gambling and games.

It's also the plot of Aria of Sorrow. The main character is the reincarnation of Dracula, but he doesn't want to be.
