once a year the state gives all residents (well, ones who have been here at least 2 years) free money. it varies in the amount but is usually at least over a thousand dollars. this year I think it's $1600. the governor wanted 3000 but got shut down. he's still trying to find a way to pay the remaining funds to equal 3000, at a later date. senate or congress says that it will hurt the future of the state's finances though.

anyway, Im thinking of using my money to buy a switch finally.

if you are NEET you should consider moving up here

Do you live in AK? I've heard there are all kinds of problems in Anchorage -- weird people tend to move there, lots of petty crime, very expensive housing etc. That true?

yea I am in anchorage. been here for a little over 2 years. this is my first year I qualify for the Public Dividend Fund.

we have problems with homeless and drugs. all of the state actually has a problem with....meth? I think. or heroin. and yea, there is quite a bit of crime. there was a massive earthquake last winter and my brother had me sign up for this text alert thing on my phone that alerts me whenever the fire department or police or whatever put out a notice about something. I was supposed to use it to monitor any after shock related problems. but I stayed signed up, and like every day, I get multiple notices about some crime somewhere in the city. a lot of shootings and stabbings. not everyone dies in them. but still....

some months back some people broke into a gun store and looted it. and they never caught the people or found the guns I don't think. also, over the summer, a rich guy from out of state paid some locals to make basically a snuff film with a teenage girl. it was a huge deal when the news broke. alaska has all kinds of crazy shit going on

as for housing....my sister is trying to move out and she has faced this problem. I don't have to really worry about it myself. I qualify for housing assistance and I actually have no idea what the full rent of my place is. but I only have to pay $130 a month. that might go up soon though. I might be getting a part time job in a month or 2. and it will affect my housing assistance. it's based on your income level so the more i make, the more my rent is
