As a person taking a class on ethics in criminal justice, my professor took 10 minutes out of the class to tell us about the importance of 9/11 and its impact on emergency responses.

I wonder how long it took Pearl Harbor to not be THAT big of a deal, expect on big anniversary dates.

Obviously no one who lived through it will totally forget but I dunno once we hit 20 years maybe it can be an every 5 year thing. >_>

Well, we don't get that day off work so it's harder to remember.

It wasn't, though. The plans for the attack existed years before its execution. The most realistic "conspiracy" scenario is that the US had existing knowledge that something was going to happen, allowed it to happen thinking casualties wouldn't be as severe, and run with it as justification for invading middle eastern countries, controlling resources and setting up puppet governments.

Yeah. Not that I necessarily think that is the case, but its plausible. Sitting back and letting it happen to enact the PATRIOT Act and invade the middle east. Thinking GWB was piloting all the planes or whatever is a little too far fetched for me.

Wouldnt the closest modern day thing France has to 9/11 is when Hitler invaded Paris in WW2?

My birthday being 2 days before it is what makes me never forget. But I don't have nothing to say about it when I remember. My opinion or thoughts would have no value if they existed

No, tbh, imo, Americans have pretty much fetishized that day.

Yes it was horrible. Yes it changed everything.
But we dwell on it way too much. It's a battle we lost, and we should admit that.

It all started when Congress went out and starting sing, God Bless America on the Capitol steps.
Next politicians are wearing US Flag pin on their lapels. etc..etc..

I get it in the wake of the event, but at some point, you are just living in trauma.
That's not a sign of strength.
