The hypocrisy is that a man who built his entire political career on championing "diversity" is proven to have done nasty racist things. This isn't some comedian trying to make a joke. It's a guy who panders to his base by appointing turban wearing ministers and then he does stuff like this.

brownface is really one of those things that is like "eh don't do it dude" levels of racism unless you're white and you don't actually understand how racism damages people so you choose to get hyper offended by everything as a default mode. He shouldn't have done it but legit no one actually cares.

Blackface is mostly the same but it at least has historical context that creates a legitimate reason to be offended.

As a Canadian, I can say that everyone I've talked to doesn't give a single **** about this except Conservatives desperately pulling at any string they can, even when it's extremely hypocritical to do so given how much deplorable trash Scheer spits on the daily.

These are the same leftists that are passing this Trudeau incident off as not a big deal.

This is common behavior among people allied to a political party. They minimize any negative things done to people of their views, and overblow the same things if done by the opposition. This isn't just political though. This happens with your favorite sports team, your family and friends, and so forth.

We, as humans, just don't judge everyone the same. We defend those we feel allegiances to and attack those we feel antagonistic toward. It's extremely hypocritical; unfortunately, we're all guilty of it. It's just one of those things that are plainly evident in politics due to the polarizing nature of the two parties.
