raytan didn't do nominations, but he did take suggestions at some point before opening up nominations proper. Seymour was added in due to my pleading for him, and I think after like two contests raytan obliged me with it. I want to say I started playing during whatever contest was running in 2003; I'm not sure exactly which that would have been since we probably never kept a record of what date this contest actually began (spoilers: it wasn't 21 years ago).

Probably during contest 4 but I could be wrong. I want to say that's right since Seymour debuted in contest 6 and I think raytan didn't put him in immediately when I requested him.

I saved a few AIM chats of me talking with partystar, and in them we discussed SMFFFC II a bit. The final of that contest appears to have been in June 2005, based on the document dates. Perhaps the first contest was the end of 2004/beginning of 2005 then? (Also I can find nothing in the chats to indicate the supposed cheating or rallying that he did to get Lulu into that finals).

Also, he copied two unsaved character tables into the chat on different dates, though I'm not sure why exactly. Here they are, in case anyone wants to have their memory toggled on a handful of former savers:
