Okay. I am looking for $x per year as my base salary, lets talk additional compensation and benefits.

Oh, we are looking for a senior talent but were paying mid at best.

Essentially what the practitioners market looks like in DC for non-cleared talent.

Yup. No one actually wants to pay for experienced engineers. Especially in the software industry, which is why most commercial software is garbage.

Ime yes, but it is dependent on specific occupation and location. Since public safety budget is huge where I am and they want to attract top tier talent, they set the market value and set it high in my area. But after Katrina, you can't really skimp on public safety
