Poll of the Day > Daytime TV is so depressing. All of the commercials are about dying.

Funeral expenses, last wishes fullfilment, kids with cancer, etc. I understand these are all parts of life, but during every commercial break?

Maybe you see it different when you get to that age, but I would hate being reminded of deaths cold grasp every 7 minutes.

Morning and daytime TV is garbage, especially on the main broadcast/network TV channels(ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CW, etc). The main demographic seems to be bored housewives. There's more variety on actual cable channels.

I've been watching Natgeo Wild lately, it's pretty much vet, zoo or wild animal shows all day, nice to watch something different. I never see those commercials on that channel or like FX or comedy network.

There are quite a few shows with 4 to 5 women at a table talking about different topics.

Also, i didnt know local news cycles the same stories for 3 hours.

it's worse when you find a cable channel that's lost it's purpose and just airs reruns of ancient tv shows 24/7

A huge chunk of people under the age of 40 have cut cable out completely so yeah it's mostly older people still watching especially during the day when most under the age of 50 or so are working.

thing is when every company under the sun poops out a brand new streaming service for everyone to subscribe to and none of them want to share their properties

you have to ask yourself "how many streaming services counts as too much?"

But it's not like everyone needs every streaming service, acting like damn if you don't have cable you must subscribe to every streaming service ever is a bit odd. Shit if you watch everything you want from one you can dump them for a while and pick them up later, I know of people that are like oh yeah I quit Netflix 3 months ago and started up Hulu now I will go back to Netflix in about 2-3 months.

Yeah. People do that with all the services. Watch a bunch of stuff on HBOs service, then dump them. Go to another channels service, then dump them after watching everything, as well...

Theres already way more than 6. I think a bunch of channels already have their own. Though, some work with cable companies. And you can watch certain channels on your phone as long as youre with one. Usually not the bigger channels...

it's just very unlikely that everything you want is under one service and just canceling one to jump to another for a little while is a bit silly

Not really. You can watch everything you want on one before switching to the other. And then do the same thing over and over again. And eventually work your way back to the first one. It saves money by you only having one per month...
