Well, if you have been through what they have been through, you would look like that in your 30s, too.

Thinking back on Auron, there's just no way he is 35. His entire lore, his story, his personality, his looks. It's more like they wrote in a 50 year old character and then the board execs said that's too old, so they just scribbed a new number in.

I think your right. I coulda sworn that he was de-aged for the remaster for what ever reason and that he was around 40 when it first came out. I could be talking out of my ass though.

Doesnt help he is basically dead though. So maybe his age stopped when he died? Doesnt explain how he looks more aged from when Yunalesca pwned him to the start of FFX

Go ask Bruce Willis how that works.

You know, it wouldn't surprise me if that's how it all works. Creators write a character first, execs decide what's a marketable age for them.

It would explain why you have retired, grizzled 24 year olds and 16 year old war vets.

Then, you know, when localization happens to anyone remotely "sexy"...

He was stupid young when he went on the first pilgrimage. Like 17 or so. He's essentially double his age and he's seen some shit.

In fictional worlds it's hard to gauge life expectancy and shit. 35 might be old if most people don't make it past 40-50. Although I guess with the prevalence of healing magic and shit, it can't be that bad lol

If you're going from a few to a full head in just four years, then you're aging worse than Obama lmao

Doesn't Japan have different standards when it comes to age? I remember in Yakuza 0 some hooligans were calling Kiryu an "old man"

Kiryu was fucking 20 in Yakuza 0

Japan is obsessed with youth. it seems like to Japanese, the most important time of life is your childhood and teenage years. people spend the rest of their lives lamenting that lost age, or trying to rekindle it.

I read that's why Japan doesn't like the MCU as much as we do. most of the heroes are "old". Japan likes stories about kids

Adults in Japan mainly just work, they see childhood and teen years as freedom and chances to explore, or be a dreamer. When you reach adulthood in Japan you are expected to either be a working man, or a stay at home mother.
