As it happens, yes. Deus Ex, Diablo II, Metroid Prime, Super Metroid and MGS3. It's the one game out of those that could be pushed out though.

We were told it was non linear and all we did was run north the whole game. XD

I disliked MGS3 in general compared to its siblings. Never liked the story of Big Boss.

Its pretty rad, but no. Ive played MGS 1-3 for the first time recently, and MGS1 is the only one of them that might make my top 20. imo, 3 has the best gameplay, but the story is the main attraction of this series.

True. I like 3's fights slightly more, but the Cobras are mostly devoid of personality. FOXHOUND are more interesting and cooler.
