don't worry too much about your horses health, i barely fed my first one, and it didn't seem to matter much. but, if it's important to you, feed, and brush your horse it every time you get off it.

You can also brush and feed your horse from horseback.

The game is purposely slow because you're supposed to reflect on what you're doing and on your actions as a whole. I only did a good playthrough but it was a very satisfying ending.

I felt this way too. I pre-ordered it and hated it so much. I loved the first Redemption so this was a massive disappointment. I was like afraid to actually do anything in it. That Bounty system was terrible. Having to walk so much is garbage you can't just call your horse from anywhere.

I do want to try it again though because it gets so much praise there has to be something I'm missing or maybe updates helped

Loot bodies and get the best satchel early to keep more loot.

don't pay off bounties. keep on the lookout for bounty hunters on the mini map, kill and loot them, and sell their ish to a fence. at higher bounty levels they can appear in groups, with dogs, which can be a pita.

Why do you need tips for a game that gives you instructions during each mission for how to complete it, and even goes so far as to punishing you if you try to find your own creative solutions by going outside the boundaries of what the game instructs you to do?

i once failed a mission because the game told me to hide behind a certain box and i hid behind the box next to it instead lol.

RDR2 was easily one of the most disappointing games i ever played, i didnt have any fun playing it & had to force myself to finish the main story.

Autoaim is really fucking useful.
Do the stuff for the camp when you get it after the prologue.
If someone attacks you in town/near a town and it is not a mission event, get the fuck out of dodge. Do not fight back, you will only get in trouble with the law

The first 2 hours are some of the most boring in any video game though I really enjoyed it. It does get a lot, lot better.

Press L3 while riding on your horse. It calms it and increases your bond.

This. Its by the frozen lake where your camp was in Chapter 1 so make sure you bring a warm outfit as you will freeze to death trying to capture it. Its literally one of the best horses in the game once maxed and you can get it really early on. Be aware you have to have at least completed the mission where you unlock the stables otherwise the horse wont pop.

When you're picking up items off a table or something, hold the button to pick them all up instead of doing them individually. Same for opening drawers and stuff

Thanks I'll keep these in mind. Played some more story and wound up with like a $160 bounty and you know what, I'm rolling with it as far as I can.

Red Dead Redemption in general is my gaming life right now. Im halfway through my 2nd RDR2 playthrough and got to 50% of the 1st in the last 3 days. Then I got Undead Nightmare waiting. I never appreciated the PS3 ones properly.

I never bathe anymore lol. On my 2nd playthrough, Ive only bathed once so far.

Another tip: If you're entering a town on a horse, slow down and try not to hit anyone. It probably sounds obvious, but you'll come to understand why if you bump into someone lol.
