What are you guys even complaining about Pretty sure I also posted my reasons. But when it comes to my problems with the movie, his miscasting is relatively minor. Most of the character growth and many of my favorite bits were in books 4 and 5, which were cut almost completely from the movie. It's just a case of being unfilmable in movie format, which is understandable; I have the books, and people who only watched the movie wouldn't see much wrong with it (apart from likely wondering at the end ~~why Scott ends up with Ramona instead of Knives, when the book takes the time to illustrate - pun intended - how Scott and Ramona are for better or worse a perfect match~~.) So apart from the obvious miscasts, I try not to rag on the SP movie nearly as much as I would something like Game of Thrones. --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. <cite>masterpug53 posted [p:928846409] in Comedies s... For instance, in the main character in Adam Sandler's remake of the Longest Yard doesn't beat up his wife in the first couple minutes of the movie and the character's misanthropic characteristics are vastly downplayed. That's partially because Adam Sandler and Bert Reynolds have two different styles, it's also because people in 2008 found beating up your wife a lot more off-putting in a comedy than they did in the original time frame. Based on the descriptions of the character here I can imagine there were similar concerns. Michael Cera's awkwardness makes his dating and cheating on a younger girl more palatable in the format than if he were confident and good with women.
