lmao dril is a satirical account

i not sure how you do not understand that people are mad because bush did shit that cost the lives of many innocents and was not punished at all for it.
How do you not understand this

How does Ellen being friends or talking to Bush effect your life and opinions in anyway? And if none, then why it is so upsetting that people are talking time out of their day to go online and directly criticize Ellen for who she associates with?

Ellen talking to Bush doesn't invalidate you or others' opinion of Bush. In your own words; how do you not understand this?

Because people like to pick "Sides " and 100% love their side and 100% hate the other as a tribe

Sports and politics and the media fuel this concept too

so the notion of people who have different views being friends bothers people

How many people have you seen on Facebook blocking friends for being Trump or NRA supporters

This so hard. Granted, I'm not sure if it's stronger on the left or they're just more vocal about it.

Paper_Okami posted...
Yeah imagine being mad about someone who tries to position herself as "progressive" making friends with a man responsible for the death of millions and acting like he's just a harmless old grandpa.
Shut the fuck up

...he was an American president, kinda goes with the territory. Are you also upset about her being friends with Obama? Because he was also responsible for millions of deaths, including countless women and children killed by the drone program he massively ramped up while in office which, among other things, murdered a wedding procession.

lmfao nice whataboutism
Obama is garbage too

Bush literally started wars that were ILLEGAL under international law there was no actual real good reason to start those wars

I mean Trump says a lot of racist shit. If you support Trump you are passively at best, and actively at worst supporting those statements.
Yeah, why the fuck wouldn't someone want to be friends with a someone who supports him. I just don't get it.

He did it anyway.

"International law" is a nebulous concept lacking even more in substance than it does in enforcement. More importantly, looking at historical precedent isn't a "whataboutism," it's being aware that history is a fucking thing. And the US is frequently condemned for its military actions throughout the world. Pretending that this is somehow unique is the height of foolishness. Again, why single out Bush when every president is guilty of illicit military actions? Why is Bush special?

You fence sitters are an absolute joke.

It's so easy to feel smug and superior when you refuse to have concrete views of your own.

Also when a legal expert John Chilcot did an inquiry into the Iraq war and found that international organizations had been undermined and there was no justification for

the war far from Nebulous which was only true if you are a smug, misinformed individual.

Being civil or polite doesn't require you to call them a friend. And I think there ought to be social consequences - because we know there will never be legal ones - when someone is incivil on the scale of George W. Bush.

I want everyone to notice the elision UR performs here. We go from "political opinions" to "actions," which UR turns, unprompted, into "non-political actions." It's a neat rhetorical trick that wipes away the idea that political actions (I.e. The things Bush did as holder of one of the world's most powerful offices) might be taken into consideration, at which point he ludicrously suggests that my issue with George W. Bush is that he drinks beer. (To my knowledge, he hasn't done so for decades, but that's beside the point.)

It's very clever, I'll give you that, but you're gonna have to waste someone else's time from now on.

Why should he or anyone else answer questions so fundamentally detached from the arguments they're making? He didn't say anything about Bush's non-political actions; you know that is not the source of his complaint. Your decision to answer that question is so you can ignore the content of his points.

I get that your whole shtick is drawing people into increasingly circular and inane arguments, but some of us have self-respect.
