The catch is...he has aspergers. Whenever the brothers try to talk to him about his behavior towards girls he gets super defensive and angry. All the girls know him by name because of his behavior. So on one hand, they want him out of the frat because hes been giving the frat the creep vibe. And on the other hand they dont want to be the frat that kicks out the guy with aspergers. Tough spot.

seems like "he does things that upset people and refuses to listen when told that he must stop" is a perfect reason to not induct a person into an organization that will live with them for years afterward (and is meant to keep them as members for life), regardless of disorders that may influence that

if pledge periods aren't for vetting out a problem that serious, pledging probably shouldn't exist at all

if they're in his pledge class and feel this way they should tell their pledge master about their concerns

the one thing more convincing than "women say this person is making them upset" is "insiders confirm this person is making women upset"

they've got the power to influence the situation but they have to use it

I feel like if people with Aspergers could just up and decide to stop acting like people with Aspergers they would do so on their own.

i understood aspergers to be a much less severe form of autism that is viewed as high-functioning, and altering behavior in response to social criticism from peers is pretty essential to function socially

but i am not an expert on the subject.

i will say this: if a person cannot function socially they should not be part of a social organization.

Not really, though. I worked a seasonal job where a guy with high functioning aspergers had to be let go because guests found his comments and behavior to be uncouth. Similar situation. He just got angry when people tried to genuinely help him.

I'm in a fraternity and fuck that shit. Honestly, his behavior as a pledge is putting the fraternity at risk, God forbid he becomes a brother and actually does something. At that point the fraternity has to take some measure of responsibility for his actions.

They can drop him as a pledge and still be friends with him and invite him to stuff. Just don't bring him to parties, for damn sure not around drunk women.

Yeah they showed me group texts and the dude is literally arguing with the other pledges about his own behavior when they try to address it. Girls on campus literally know this dudes name only because he has made so many girls extremely uncomfortable. They even have two group chats. One with him and one without him.
