Thats what I'm doing....eating around 1700-1800 calories per day (my maintanence is around 2200 (sedentary) - 2400(light activity)). Example: I've been averaging around 4000 steps per day. I lift 3 days per week. I dont do cardio.

I'm eating at least 150g of protein every day. I'm 6'0 and 180lbs.

It's how most people gain muscle outside of the internet theory of "bulk til you hate yourself"

You're not actually "losing" fat , it's just you gain muscle without much fat at all, so you lose bf%

Looks like you're on a good path. Progressive overload will be the most important thing. If you stop seeing progress in your weights or reps, then add some calories

I'm on a specific workout:
https://imgur.com/SKruJBF

I'm just pacing myself. Started at around 95 lbs for bench, deadline, and 70lbs with squat(wanted to work on form and joint mobility), and I'm just adding 7.5 lbs on bench every week and 10lbs on squat/dead every week. So for example, this is week 3, I benched 110 yday.

I'm in no rush. By week 12 my bench will hopefully be 175, dead 260, and squat around 225 or so.

Size and strength is the goal, but i wanna lose my excess fat first, I'm about 15 lbs overweight right now.

Body recompositioning is what happens naturally when you begin to exercise and make no dietary changes. Eating healthy is only going to help improve your body composition, but a good program is generally outcome based and improves the following 3 things: body composition, performance, and health.

fasho.

Ive seen some recomp progress pics on reddit, seems like it takes a few months to see any noticeable changes in the body fat % visually, but after a long period of time, you look pretty good.

We'll see what happens.

With your stats you could get a nice body in like 3 months with the right nutrition and training intensity.
