I mean, there's no chance they're less dangerous than vaping.

They literally have a multitude of uses beyond just transitioning, including preventing children from going through puberty way too young (like 5 year olds developing breasts or having periods).

Maybe because it sounds like real lifes nonsense you have to hear everyday if you deal with trans issues at all, and not at all super funny or original or never heard before in this context. In other words dont be surprised and sad when people think youre just a jerk when you say something a jerk would say, defend it, and then try to cop out about it being a joke. Stop being confused and offended when people dont understand your obscure references and think you want all trans people to die or at least shut up because that is extremely super common.

The context really did look like you were dismissive over "Transgender People" being the preferred term over Transsexual. Which is par for the course when it comes to people treating such individuals as undeserving of basic decency.

Perhaps that wasn't your intention. With the trans community being under fire recently however, such comments don't get the benefit of the doubt nearly as often these days.

this is exactly what I mean when I say this type of behavior is isolating to certain people. When you create new terms and change your language "because it takes no effort to change your terms" you're creating a situation where everyone who doesn't keep up with current language sounds like an asshole.

When in reality all you're doing is being self righteous about your slacktivism, patting yourself on the back that you're internet savy enough to know the proper terminology before the proletariat. It's classic asshole elitist behavior but you get to feel good about it because you think you're defending trans people.
