Prob not vintage Rolex watches. Considering Rolex doesn't make money off of vintage watches, just resellers.

Anyway I try not to judge rich people's shit because if I had the money I would have a lot of dumb shit too but I also wouldn't be pushing for economic equality or some BS political movement she's always pushing.

I don't see the appeal in fancy old watches but if I was Ellen I'd have like 10 mil in guns and ammo and another 10 in cool gadgets and about 5 in cars.

how does buying and wearing expensive watches suggest she doesnt actually care about the stuff she does? You can care about something without it being your singular lives focus.

Someone that does lots lots of good stuff and the occasional selfish thing that doesnt hurt anyone is still a good person.

I feel like this criticism misses a big picture. Ellen didnt throw a million dollars away, she invested it in a hard luxury good. The money didn't disappear either, it simply changed hands.

I don't see why Ellen has some grand responsibility to give all that money away when each day we implicitly endorse the system that is integral for people like Ellen continuing to exist. It seems a very petty and misdirected use of righteous anger.

Did you read my explanation, like, at all? The point is that she's profiting from her image of being a good Samaritan, while actually she's just another hyper rich person. Again disagree all you want, I'm not trying to convince you anyone is in the right here. Just trying to make you understand why she's being criticized.

And this criticism/spotlight is likely a consequence of her sticking up for GWB, trivializing his war crimes.
