There is nothing really wrong with this. They are being sentenced for their crimes and there is no provision in Irish law for some vague additional mental/physical torture by way of media. Its also worth noting cases like the James Bulger case in the UK where repeated intrusion by the press served only to incur extra state expense and inhibit potential rehabilitation of minors who committed a serious crime.
