Very few. I always hated it, even as a kid. And I was spoiled enough that I could easily get my parents to buy candy for me whenever I asked (within reason), so it never felt all that special to me.

Worse, I kind of went off the idea of candy in general really early - I remember at one point basically talking my parents into giving me money for Easter instead of candy because I didn't want a ton of candy. Even today I'm not really into sweets in general, whether candy or cake or whatever. Most of the time I much prefer salty or spicy snacks, and only really eat stuff like ice cream or cookies once in a rare while.

I've always liked the concept of dressing up in costumes, though - but more in the sense of going to parties or costume contests and not house-to-house.

I might have done it up until my freshman year of high school, after which I was either going to parties on Halloween or sometimes working that night.

Growing up, I tended to live in less populated neighborhoods (ie, bigger lawns / space between places) so my hauls were never huge. And when I was really young, we had some bigger neighborhoods but my folks never let me stop at all that many houses.

I stopped around the age of 12. Although technically I did take my Niece and Nephew trick or treating a few years ago.

I dont remember when I stopped going regularly. The last time I went was 11th grade, I think. My friends and I normally hung out at my best friends house. And weve done costumes a couple of times. But once, we went over in regular clothes. I dont remember any of the conversations or why any of it happened, but me and another guy (one of our friends who was a year younger) dressed up as females. My best friend lent is some clothes. High heels and dresses. Luckily, it wasnt too cold. That was a fun night. And got a bunch of candy...

I think I stopped when I left Elementary school, so probably around 6 years, depending on if I went before Kindergarten.

Probably from like age 3-12. So like ten Halloweens. But like from age 8 to 12 I never really felt like doing it. I'd put the least amount of effort into a costume.

I have no idea. I do remember going my senior year in high school. I was small, only weighed 80 lbs so I took my little niece and nephew trick or treating. I did dress up bit I don't know if I actually got candy.

Just one. I was 6 and my brother was 8. Parents decided he'd be too old for it and that it would be unfair if I went and he didn't. So that was the only time I actually got to experience it.

Started when I was 4, stopped when I was 13.

One of those years I know I went to a Halloween party instead of going trick or treating.

Maybe 8 years total.

I distinctly only remember the last one, because I went with friends. The first 7 years I went with my father and siblings to the hospital to get candy handouts from the patients, but those years all blend together in an air of unremarkability.

Last time I went (and also the last time I wore any kind of costume) was in 8th grade. I remember realizing that it was going to be my last time as I was doing it, because both the friend I was with and I felt too old to be doing it as we were walking around and stuff.
As for how many years - I'm not sure when I started exactly. Probably around 4 or 5, so 8-9 years total.

I don't miss the whole costume aspect of it, because I was never creative. I literally wore the same costume starting in 4th grade until I stopped - a spiky wig and some biker gloves, sometimes with a nondescript jacket. I added plastic fangs one time (which hurt, bad idea, hate those things) and like a necklace another time. I simply never had any good ideas. I liked that wig, but just kept using it because it was there. I just wanted candy.

I've never been trick or treating - it isn't really done much here in England. And I think we've only ever had about two trick or treaters come to our house in my whole 30+ years.

I love going for long walks, I love the night air, I love walking at night, I love candy...

Trick or Treating was fucking awesome for me, Halloween was always my favorite holiday when I was in school. I kept doing it through senior year of high school. The last year I did it, a cop stopped me and searched my bag, assuming someone my age being out was up to no good. When all he found in the bag was candy and no TP or eggs or anything and he seemed shocked and disappointed, I knew it was time to stop.

Now it's a useless holiday for me. Sad. :(

Don't I know it. But this in particular wasn't that bad. I'm guessing I was taken during the years when I was too young to remember. I think I might have vague memories of the year before but it's too hazy to know for sure. Besides at the time I lived next door to my grandma and her house was the family hub, so loads of other family stopped by. I still got to see the costumes and give out candy and got to eat what wasn't given out.

4 until like 10 or 11. I remember my neighborhood had almost no kids so any house I went to would just give me handfuls of candy and I would end up with 3-4 shopping bags full by the end of the night. My dad has said he has had a total of 10 trick or treaters in the 32 years he has lived in my old neighborhood.

Honestly I stopped not because I "grew out of it", I just hated putting on a costume and the candy never seemed worth it because my mom was the kind of person who kept the house full of it (probably why I have grown to dislike sweets as an adult).

I think I went all the way up until I was a junior in high school.

Free candy, I didnt give a shit it was meant for younger kids.

also special shout out to when I was 14 and I went over to the one house at the other end of my street who were never home but always left candy bags and drinks(capri sun, huggies, etc) on a table in their front yard and pretty much stole all of it and put it in a pillowcase and ran home. I did it late enough the 4 total kids on our street probably got some, but oh well. I was an ass back then, but it isn't like I feel remorse now even if I have much greater moral character.
