Yeah, me too. It's hard to drive if I can't turn my head.

Ouch, that's a total. A body shop would have to do the trunk lid, rear bumper, rear trunk pan, probably both rear quarter panels... that's the kind of thing that would total most newish cars, much less your sentimental one. Sorry

If it makes you feel any better, I cried like a baby when insurance totaled my first car because the hood and front fenders got a little bent out of shape, but that was because the car was older than me lol. I'm still salty at that old woman because she pulled out into the road without looking and I couldn't brake in time.

I also remember what happened with your mom, so I totally understand why you'd be really upset about it. I'll spare bringing it up further, but I'm really sorry this happened to you.

I bet that would cost way more than the car is worth, huh? Not to mention it would take forever and who knows how well it would work after repairs like that. I bet you anything I'd have at least ONE problem with the lights or trunk getting stuck or something like that.

Why do we even let old people drive? They don't pay attention, they can't see at night, they have slow reaction times, and they've forgotten a bunch or rules and laws. I cried a little, too.

Yeah... I think that's what bothers me most... With her car, I felt like she was still with me in the passenger seat keeping me company and watching over me, in a sense. It just makes me feel like I'm losing pieces of her little by little. What's next? The springs blow out in the couch I got from her? A table breaks? The television I got from her was blown out last summer due to power outages/surges. It's like the universe wants to pull me away from her...

Yeah, the labor on that would be obscene. Lots of cutting and welding, even assuming they could get parts for an older vehicle like that. It'd probably all be used and pulled from a junkyard. American vehicles don't hold their value so it was probably an easy call for the insurance company, unfortunately.

I'm not gonna say you have to let her go since I don't know you or her like that. Everyone handles this stuff differently. I actually know someone that overdosed and died that I just saw two weeks ago at an AA meeting, and my coworker got the news that same night that her cousin overdosed that day but she pulled through. Good thing too, since there'd be an 11 and 14 year old left behind. I know all about that stuff, that makes three people I personally knew that died plus all the countless others I've heard about.

People told me the pain would be delayed when I got in a wreck going 90 something.

All I got was whiplash, which is the exact same soreness you get from headbanging.
See: Metallica

Hope you're alright, I know I ended up thinking about mortality for a couple days. It'll subside

whats going to happen is that your insurance wont cover the damage because its not your fault so youll end up having to sue the guy, youll get money to cover the car and money for pain and suffering.

I think it depends on what kind of insurance she has, since Pennsylvania allows you to opt out of the "no fault" system

I think I'm gonna lawyer up pretty soon here. Problem is I'm "Limited Tort" so that'll be a real fly in the ointment. But that remains to be seen.
