Do you really not feel way too invasive when you say stuff like that? When you act like the decision and adoption is this easy, you just show how much you lack in real world experience.

You realise many people who say that mean they want natural kids, right? On top of that, adoption is something many people simply can't afford :/

I have an adopted daughter I know exactly what it takes. It's no less a monumental decison and experience than getting pregnant or being with someone who is.

I believe you. Actually some people are so set in their ideals, they can go through something and still have less insight than most who haven't. So you may very well have an adopted child

Also, some people have less progressive families and it's selfish to tell someone to throw away their whole family just cause they're ignorant to the persons lifestyle. To other people they might be bigots, but that doesn't mean they didn't show their child compassion and understanding on some level. Bigots can still be a very important part of their childrens lives. It would help if you could change their minds through experience but some are hard set. I think the person should be able to make a choice without being judged for not throwing away their bigoted family. It's sad but that's some peoples entire life and everything they know at stake

Yeah, like we're exceptions to the rule. I could make this same topic about a billion things.

Its not too much to ask a trans person to just send a text before the first date that says, FYI Im trans, let me know if were still on for tonight. Thats just showing a basic level of respect.

A handful of people on here probably recognize me as someone who has little sympathy for the trans community, so what I'm about to say is kind of out of character for me. But I totally understand why they would omit that information if they felt like they could avoid it. Everybody wants sex, or even to just feel wanted. It is very human to leave out certain details that you think would deter someone from wanting you, when you think you've finally found someone that you like that also likes you, because that's such a rare thing in modern times, for everyone, I feel like.

During phases of my life where I have profiles on dating apps, I lie on my profile and say I'm 6 feet tall, though I am actually 5'10". I guess I feel like it's a forgivable lie, because most women just have the "6 feet" thing engraved in their mind because society keeps telling them that should be their standard. Most of the women who hold this numerical standard don't realize most of the guys they're attracted to are actually several inches shorter than 6 feet, so when they see a guy on a dating app who says he's shorter than that, they mentally picture him as shorter than he actually is, and therefore undateable.

This whole problem is that it exist males that feels forced to beat up transwomen just for thinking that they looked good enough. If these people tries to flirt with a transwoman, then it doesnt matter if the first response is Im a transwoman or Im not interested and they later hear from a friend that bro, that chick used to be a guy!, they will respond with their fists anyway.
So why should transpersons be forced to share something that personal that others have nothing to do with, and raise the risk of getting killed?
Want them to wear yellow badges?

No. There are people on here who say I'm transphobic, but even I know better than to say anyone "feels forced" to beat them up. That's fucking dumb. If I found myself in that situation, I would find an excuse to just leave. There is no need to beat someone up over this, and to say that one "felt forced" to do so is just asinine.

Now where did I say that everybody that dont want to date transwomen will beat them up?
The hard truth is that they get beaten to death. Not everybody, but too many to make them comfortable to be more open about it.
So why are they getting beaten to death?
Be ause they got tricked? If that was the case, then America would be filled with more dead people for tricking others in different ways. Heck, we wouldnt have any casino workers left!
The answer is more psychological. In the big macho culture, it is wrong to be gay. Trying to flirt with a transperson or even thinking that she is pretty is enough to be gay according to their minds. They think they have been infected, and that they slowly will turn into the stereotypical homosexual, and theynthink that their friends will be disgusted and leave them, perhaps after getting beaten up.
And the only way to prevent this infection is to beat up whoever gave them the gay, because that is manly according to their head.
It may look laughable, but thats how the Us VS Them mind works.

Of course I understand why they'd lie by omission, I just think its best to be honest up front. The truth will come out eventually.

Lies about things like height and age are much less bad IMO because they arent tied to sexual orientation. I still wouldnt do it though.

Just for the record, not all trans women (or trans people) are obnoxiously nuts when it comes to the specific issue of trying to attract cisgender partners. Don't let the comments in online echo chambers paint all of them with the same insane brush for you.

Many experienced trans people understand it's awkward, insensitive, and hypocritical to pressure cis folk into dating them. It's not an uncommon life lesson to learn for them. Some of the biggest refusals come within LGBTQ subcultures themselves. Plenty of trans folk get it and have learned to work around it just fine while viewing the petty "date trans or you're a bigot " rhetoric as ugly and counterproductive...much like the people screeching it.

Many trans folk believe in "live and let live " just as their forebearers fought for. And that means respecting another person's sexual orientation, even heterosexuality.
