For some reason I never gave it much thought and only noticed now and realized that even thought I'm a righty, I hold my phone with my left hand and also keep it in my left pocket

Same here.

Probably because I was carrying a wallet before a cell phone, so wallet in the right pocket is automatic.

Should have had pocket preference in the poll as well.

I'm left handed and I use it with either hand when picking it up from a desk or something, but I tend to keep it in my right pocket which means my right hand is the one using it whenever I pull it out of my pants

Also, many apps are designed for right-handed use because their ux designers are awful and don't bother taking left handedness into account.

I've wandered into a right-thumb/left-index paradigm, somehow, and I haven't noticed.

Left, and I'm left-handed.

Hold with left, use with right. Goes in left pocket, and if I'm talking on it, I use my left. I'm right handed
