At least you can get some rest...

Yep, plus I learned my lesson. I'm going to refuse if this comes up again. Being wishy washy got me into this mess and I felt like I should help him at the time. After all this crap he pulled, that's out the window.

Yeah. Never help him ever again. Like ever!

I told him last night what we decided, and that he gets that night off too. He agreed at first, then began trying to convince me to change it back to how he had it. I told him no, that this works best for all of us, that I wouldn't need to rush back to work, he'd get all the rest he needs and can be late or not show at all, and everything would still be covered without putting any of us in much of a bind.

Then he started complaining that I was taking his shift, and it was unfair(it was my shift originally anyway). So now he's saying that he's getting into town with plenty enough time to get to work and pull his shift no problems. I told him that's fine, that if he shows up I get to go home, but he doesn't want to do that either because it's unfair that he'd have to pull a full shift while I get a short day in(unfair to him that is, he's not worried about about me losing hours). He told me I needed to switch it back to how he had it because it works better for him, I told him no that the way it is now is perfect for us who are actually working that day. He was still saying we needed to change it back when I left.

Also, he usually has me stay and watch the desk while he goes and takes a 20 minute bathroom break. When he went into bathroom I left. I don't need to babysit the desk for him because he can't use the bathroom at home before work.

He doesnt seem to care about anything except screwing you over. He wants to work because he wants more hours. But he doesnt want to work because if he does, you get to go home. Which shouldnt matter to him since you already work three times as much as he does. I wouldnt worry about entertaining anything he has to say...

I think it's a power thing. He was able to tell the previous managers what to do and they'd do it just to avoid dealing with him. He used to tell me that he's basically in charge and everyone has to do as he says, and it was true to a degree as he'd just cause issues for everyone and it was just easier to work around him then(plus we were fully staffed then so it was much easier to deal with).

Now he's upset that there's a new manager instead of him being promoted. He and her get into petty little squabbles all the time over pointless stuff. So, I guess he saw her scheduling him for a shift that he didn't like as some sort power move or something, and he's just trying to keep things under his control. At least, that's what it looks like to me. He doesn't seem to be a team player, or care about the business or any of us, we seem to just be things he can use for his own benefit and he doesn't like when things pull away from his plans.

Then that probably is whats going on. Its good that the new manager is basically putting him in his place by not doing everything he wants. Maybe do it a few more times to show him that he doesnt run the place...
