All they do is piss off a minority of internet poke drama queens who will probably buy the game anyway.

They save tons of effort of having to code in literally over a thousand pokemon in their first 8th gen game. Plus people HAVE to buy other 8th gen games when they inevitability add the exuded ones in the sequel in order to get a full dex.

Not to mention charging for a service that may or may not support additional Pokemon outside of SwSh.

They really arent saving much effort in coding at all. All of the models they need are already there for them to use, same with the animations. Every returning poke has the same model and animations as they did in the 3ds games.

It makes perfect sense and it's a good number to start with too. The average player isn't collecting every single Pokmon and out of over 400 to pick from who cares if your favorite isn't in lol.

Also it's the first main game on a console with a new Gen. Makes sense to keep making more Pokmon games on the switch then slowly adding the missing Pokmon to other games to trade in the future.

The whole Dexit thing is really just an issue because the rest of the game is so fuckin' half-assed. If Sword/Shield looked like Breath of the Wild, people would care far less about missing Pokemon.
