Smash 4 board, long before Shulk was leaked/confirmed, I created a topic when I first bought Xenoblade so I could use it to report on if I liked Shulk as a character and thought he would be a good fit for the game (he was at the time among the top 5 most discussed potential newcomers on that board). I made a topic on a WarioWare board speculating about a sequel to a minigame in a previous WarioWare game, and it got deleted for off-topic. I complained about it on MBH and got warned because they thought my complaint topic was a "lame joke topic".

Nowadays if I get modded it either gets overturned or I accept that it was flaming according to the rules and don't really care about getting it reposted or 3 karma.

Sometimes you have to be really clear about this stuff so the mods know 100% that you're referring to a prior game in the series. Like I got away with posting a topic on the Saints Row 3 board about how, right when I started the car after picking up the game, a-Ha's "Take On Me" started up on the radio and I sung along on the way home. I put in a disclaimer for the mods that the protagonist had done that exact thing in Saints Row 2 so it wouldn't get deleted, thus it didn't. And this was eight years ago this week.

I've sung along to that song every time it comes on the radio ever since.
