The main argument isn't that it ruined their life, but it was a permanent and unnecessary medical procedure that was done without consent. Either way it doesn't discredit their wishes for stop routine circumcision. Sometimes phimosis happens when the foreskin is too tight to peel back and that can be treated with a steroid cream and stretching.
