Unless he raises that he doesnt have a path forward; so can we not damage candidates that wont win within our party who can be a use for us in the future for other roles?

Thanks!

Are you saying people of color would rather vote for Trump than Pete?

Because if that's the choice come November I don't see that happening and I see them voting for whoever has the D next to their name.

I would appreciate having a Presidential nominee who's in his 30s.

This is such a baffling view of politics to me; I don't think anybody owes a presidential candidate consideration for their future job prospects.

A person useful for advocating liberal/left/Democrat policies.

Whether that be Indiana Gov; admin; or surrogate etc.

Beto is practically useless now thanks to inflicted (and some self inflicted) wounds when he could have been great for Texas Democrats

It makes perfect sense if you realize the Democratic Party is a professional organization for Democratic politicians that exists first and foremost to facilitate the advancement of its members.
And, for some reason, think that's cool and good.

Im not sure I actually agree that we should be more concerned with that than with having fair critiques even when theyre harsh, but I do get the reasoning.

Im cool with that. Dumb mentality like Pete is a sociopath I do not lol

Whatever "damage" he might incur in this primary seems tame compared to what he'd face in a general election outside of a college town. If a candidate has flaws, I don't think you can just pretend they don't and hope voters who have less invested in the Democratic Party's success will do the same.

people can simultaneously support pete for local office in indiana while being strongly opposed to his candidacy for potus. he isnt qualified or competent enough at this point to be potus and there are much better candidates in the primary

But TCs point is to not tear him down so much as a presidential candidate that he cant win a state election

Like if the tear down is specific about policies Im gucci. But its the hyperbolic comments thats like....can we chill out. None of these candidates are the devil lol

The Indiana GOP isn't going to take an election off. Criticism he gets from the left in a 2020 primary isn't going to be a decisive factor in some hypothetical future senate race; the criticism he receives from Indiana Republicans will.

Let's be honest: we're talking about tweets here. TC doesn't want to see any more mean tweets to Pete. We're not gonna see any TV ads demonizing him in this primary.

To be fair, Pete running for Senate in Indiana would be really great for the Party.

If Trump is qualified to be President then Pete definitely is.

The "not qualified to be President" is a dumb idea because it guarantees that every president is going to be 50+ or close to it, even though you only have to be 35+ to be president.
