To lessen the gang violence and make people who use drugs get help instead of being afraid of what the law would do. The use won't be criminilized, but it's still illegal to buy or sell drugs.

First time a big politic party has been this positive for the use of drugs. Sweden is super anti drug atm.

I think that it's reasonable to an extent especially with overdose deaths and rehabilitation. Decriminalizing could possibly lead to a higher number of people seeking treatment for addiction instead of living in fear. In theory.

What drugs? Weed I think is a no brainer, legalize it. Maybe psychedelics? However the gangs and Cartel make all their money on heroine, I just don't see how a drug like that could possibly be legal and regulated, especially with the opioid epidemic going on. Same with Meth and the other hardcore drugs. I don't think Cocaine should be sold in stores either honestly.

It's the step to the right direction, even if it's not the best yet. Making drugs legal to use will save a lot of lives. You get punished hard with using drugs in Sweden, so people are afraid to get help, and even during when people OD and stuff some people are afraid to call help since they don't want to get caught.

Anyway, not sure how to feel about this. I'm no fan of drugs, but I'm also not a fan of drugs cartels. Does decriminalization really help get rid of those types?

Personally, I want cannabis legalized, with state selling it like they do with alcohol. Loads of tax income they can use, also less gang violence leading to less cost on health care etc.
