Rescue crews were able to safely get a worker down from a McDonald's sign in Middletown Wednesday.

The man went up at least 100 feet in the air to work on the sign when his equipment shut itself off after a lift was no longer level on the ground.

Just got out of level with the lift, so it shut itself down, said Matt Keller. Kind of stuck up there when you get to that point.

Keller says he called for help and waited for rescue crews to get him down.

I wasnt scared or anything. Im used to it. Not scared of heights, said Keller laughing.

Middletown and Monroe fire departments and Butler County Technical Rescue all worked to get him down safely. They started bringing him down just after 3 p.m.

All in all a pretty simple operation with the ladder truck, but everything was set up on the ground in case that didnt go correct, said Butler County Technical Rescue Team Commander Randall Hanifen.

Keller was up on the sign to do routine maintenance work.
