And the well they should ban tall people from basketball argument doesnt work because there are already guys way taller than everyone else in there and while it makes them insane rebounders, they cant move or shoot worth dick so it evens out since its a team sport.

Nah they have an unfair advantage and should only be restricted to a league just for people like them.

Women are treated fairly in tennis and soccer (in the U.S.) too. But they'd get utterly crushed by professional men in any of those sports.

Hell, remember when the 203rd ranked male tennis player trashed the Williams sisters while he was drinking a beer and smoking in between sets?
Yeah, I posted that before you did in this topic. I was responding to what RDVEH was loling at. Which was about respect. Of course the woman can't complete in contact sports with guys.

I just explained why your argument fails. Being tall is not a massive advantage in the NBA, it only benefits you in 1 or 2 areas.

There are plenty of 7 foot and beyond guys in the NBA right now, and almost none of them are all stars.

Uh, bro, you clearly dont watch basketball because theres a position called point guard composed of men of average height with amazing shooting and ball handling ability that become highly successful.

Ill give you time to regroup and come back with something else.

If I had the time or the interest I could go through the entirety of NBA history to rip your paper thin argument to shreds. The point stands that being tall is an advantage in maybe 2 areas of a game with many factors to be successful.

There are plenty of tall women in the WNBA and theyd still get torched by shorter NBA point guards because as ive said countless times, men are naturally stronger than women.

And it seems as if the vast, vast majority of posters here agree with me (currently 69 to 8 in the poll).

It was actually easier than I thought. Turns out there have been 25 players UNDER 59 in the NBA that were still among the best in the world and were drafted into the NBA. If I open that up to heights 59 to 60 (still very much average), that number goes into the hundreds.

Well that was fun, want to try another angle or just give up?

Dude, height has a major advantage in the NBA. This isn't really debatable.

You can get by at shorter heights at the point guard position since it relies on a different skill set, but point is probably the most athletic position on the floor and the one in which women would have the least likely chance of ever being able to match up with men.

The only NBA position a woman could even theoretically play would be shooting guard, where she'd have to be a spot-up perimeter shooter like J.J. Reddick. But that woman would be utter dogshit on defense, so even that's not realistic.

It sounds like you agree with me.

And theres a reason the 76 Tacko Fall is barely getting any minutes on the Celtics right now, because he needs to develop in all areas of the game besides being tall.

Because they likely wouldn't have a biological advantage in the sports in question. You're effectively making the argument for not having gender divisions in sports, which I agree with, but I am not sure if you are intending to.

You do realize that if all leagues were open to both genders and no female specific categories or leagues existed women couldnt even be pro athletes right?

youre aware of what youre advocating for here?

You should read the rest of the topic or at least my posts. I'm advocating for divisions based on less arbitrary criteria than gender, because the current debate results from the ambiguity surrounding gender, and even if you want to go by sex, intersex is still an issue and it has been argued some former Olympic women champions were intersex.

doesnt address my point in the context of what you stated.

A shit tier half drunk dude smashed the Williams sisters in tennis. What do you think happens if the top female hockey players or fighters of ever fight a low end male pro?

Sigh. It's tough. If you ask the question "Why are sports separated by gender in the first place" you quickly see why it's unfair to biological women.

Either the walls come down and everyone competes together and women are basically pushed out of sports except a few. Or transgender women compete with women and crush them.

They aren't separated because "this is the girly league, lol, girls only." It's so they can actually compete and win in some capacity.

I don't care either way. I'm not a woman. They are the ones that are going to fight that battle and decide what is best.

if youre really dying on this hill mebbe you need to learn to express yourself better. You clearly said a thing with specific implications and i answered according to exactly what you said. If you meant something else thats on you.

I mean exactly what I said. I think divisions based on things other than gender are better. And you just went right into talking about how men would crush women if there was only one division, which I never said I wanted. It's like saying bigger people would crush smaller people in MMA if there was only one division. You just say things I agree with instead of providing a counter-point.
